The National Institute of Justice (NIJ), in partnership with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), is seeking applications for scholarships for mid-rank law enforcement officers as part of the Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science (LEADS) program. Scholar activities include: attendance at the IACP Annual Conference with exclusive networking and education opportunities as well as collaborative brainstorming events between LEADS scholars, NIJ science staff, and IACP executives.
They will also be given travel support for independent research and site visits to see ongoing research undertaken by law enforcement agencies across the country. The scholars will receive opportunities to present research and findings at law enforcement conferences and be published in practitioner-focused journals. The scholars will also attend NIJ-sponsored events focusing on law enforcement and participate in NIJ peer review.
