The National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs annual conference, co-hosted with Regional One Health, is an opportunity for innovators and advocates for healthcare delivery reform from across the country, both pioneers and newcomers, to meet, network, and create a shared agenda for the emerging field of complex care. This year’s conference theme is It takes an ecosystem: Complex care across the community, which will delve into complex care ecosystems that exist across the country and explore how collaboration is foundational to this work. Workshops will include sessions on complex care innovation in the crisis and criminal justice system—such as how behavioral health crisis response and criminal justice diversion can help reduce avoidable emergency department encounters and recidivism—and on building county-wide cross sector collaboratives to serve vulnerable populations, including how health systems, social services, police, fire, and community members can partner to impact vulnerable populations and build needed resources to change health outcomes.
